  1. Wanted - one VL3000 loom to go from main PCB to head. Does anyone have an old, not too crispy, loom from a dead unit they'd be willing to sell?
  2. I think this noisy, floppy head problem is a driver / PCB issue. I've seen this a few years ago but can't remember if it was on a 600 or a VL. Depending on where you are Jamie Shurlock might be able to advise - http://jamiesmagictorch.co.uk/ He's on here, too.
  3. Hi all, I have a VL3000 spot with a Gobo3Index No Sensor error. On calibration the gobo wheel judders. I'd assumed this was drive related so changed out the drive chip for Gobo3Index on the PCB to no effect. Looking at the unit, there is an optical sensor for the gobo indexing which is notched on the stepper motor spindle for indexing. This looks to be clear and has been blasted with air. Using the test points, the Gobo3Index point stays at 4.99V at all times. Comparing against wheels 1 and 2, these stay at 5v and then drop to 0.1 v briefly, then go back up - this is using the fixture's test menu. I've swapped control boards and the problem goes away, so I'm assuming I can rule out loom, sensors, or anything in the head. Anything else I can check out?
  4. I have just now. Common sense failure....
  5. Hello, Does anyone have an exploded parts diagram for the Prolights Studiocob FC? I need to source some parts - I've sent a couple of messages to AC-ET but am not getting a response so thought if I phone them armed with the right part numbers I might get a bit further. Thanks all.
  6. Hello, I'm after 1x ETC Source 4 Prof double clutch back end. I don't need the reflector, gate, tube etc. Anyone got the part knocking around?
  7. Hi all, I have an original Mackie SRM450 which is beginning to act up. The speaker will perform normally, but after a little while the HF will fade out. I am assuming there is a dry joint on the board in the HF section which is warming up during operation and disconnecting. Is this common on these? I am aware of the amp modules dying but have not come across this specific issue on these before.
  8. Thanks guys. New doughty stuff is likey out of the price range for this particular job, but the Ultimax looks like it might be worth a shot.
  9. Thanks - will have a look around.
  10. Morning all, I am looking for a recommendation for a pair of really solid speaker stands for a pair of Martin F12s. A lot of cheaper stands seem to have plastic cuffs where the tripod feet meet the centre column, or threads which strip when tightening. I've also seen some stands where the leg braces seem to be made of thin material and flex easily. What are people using which is really solid? Can you give me a model code? Thanks guys.
  11. Hello, I was wondering if any of you know of the part number for the toggle switch on a Metro CBP1 beltpack which latches on for the mic, but is also momentary contact for push-to-talk? I can't quite find one online with the right combination of right angle connection, latching and momentary! Thanks!
  12. Thanks all. Will fire off some emails. Stephen
  13. Hi guys & gals, We are looking to have some custom facility panels made up to hold the usual Neutrik D series connectors (for video, data and audio) as well as some power such as a 16 or twin 13 per panel. I have come across a company called Robolights who do this, but was wondering who else is in this sector who can produce nice labelled panels with suitable surface mount boxes. All suggestions gratefully received!
  14. The difference between the 835 and 845 is the pickup pattern. The 835 has a heart shaped pick up pattern, with the point of the heart being where your mouth would be. The 845 has a narrower pick up, with a small pickup 'lobe' at the rear of the mic where your hand would be. In your situation you'd notice no difference, really, but I would suggest the 835 as the pickup pattern is slightly wider towards the front, which may be more forgiving for those with poor mic technique.
  15. Thanks for the suggestions. Have found a similar product to the WS8 in size that I can ‘nip’ to fit the 614. The WS6 looks to be good but is too expensive at £40. Thanks again.
  16. I think these will be too big at 31mm dia.
  17. Hello, I am doing some outdoor stuff using the Sennheiser e614 and am looking to get good shielding from wind noise. I was looking at the Rode WS8 windshield, which will fit this 20mm diameter mic, however nowhere has it in stock or available within 7 days. Can anyone advise me on a suitable alternative for this mic? Am looking to get 3.
  18. Thanks folks. Have some cinefoil so will have a look time permitting.
  19. Hi, I understand that a donut is used to help sharpen a gobo in a profile. However, what effect does the aperture size have? For example a Source 4 donut has a centre hole option of 2 1/2", or 3 3/16". Will the smaller aperture lead to sharper image but further decreased brightness in comparison to the 3 3/16" one?
  20. Am looking to buy 6x S4 profile top hats for use in a college, if anyone has any surplus/battered/cheaply available ones going. Thanks.
  21. Thanks for this. Have managed to find the full bank lists using when I got to my computer. Am familiar with the licensing so will pass on details to the top brass at the school.
  22. Hello, I've been roped in to help out a school who seem to have been on a spending spree on radio mics, which they say they have 'problems' with. They are all Trantec S5.5 units in CH38, tuned over multiple banks. Looking online it seems that you can only run 24 units in bank 5 - is this correct? They have 28.... Thanks.
  23. 3 is an acclaim and 5 is deffo a Cantata.
