Are you sure CPC don't still do it but under their Pro Power brand?
For instance Waterproof Matt Gaffer Tape 50mm x 50m Black - 3130 BLACK is actually Scapa 3130, the picture is even of a roll of Scapa tape.
Thanks for that.
I did a search on CPC for Scapa tape which didn't show any results so I missed the one in your link.
Are you saying that all the Pro Power tapes are made by Scapa?

Just finished my stock of black gaffer tape.
It was made by Scapa and bought from CPC.
They don't seem to list it anymore.
I like it because it's easy to tear, sticks well and easy to pull up without leaving any sticky residue.
Any recommendations for a similar tape, preferably from CPC as they will deliver to me here in Spain at a sensible price.

Why don't you email or phone Thomann?
I have always found them helpful and knowledgable about the products they sell.

I've always used the traditional way of 3" x 1" timber faced with calico.
When I lived in the UK we used these flats for 6 productions a year and I needed to recover them after 4/ 5 years.
Cheap to make and light to handle.

I have a traditional arc welder, a MIG welder and one of the newer inverter arc welders.
Only use the inverter arc welder now as it is so much easier to move around being compact and fairly light weight.
It comes with a shoulder strap so it is easy to carry up a ladder and weld whilst up the ladder although never tried it using it up a ladder yet.

Got a link to any further information on these?
I PM'd him, asking for details, after his original post but haven't had a reply.

Occasionally use Multiplay for amateur shows.
Excellent piece of software.
I have the GO, etc buttons on the left, cue list in the middle and notes on the right
Donation sent.

Have you actually supplied a DMX signal to it?
Usually with most of these cheap fixtures they are in stand-alone mode until you supply them with a DMX signal.

Thanks for the reply.
I think I can live with the latency for the purpose I will be using it.
I slight delay in me bringing up the stage lights is better than what sometimes happens now.
I sometimes have to guess the stage crew or offstage and the actors onstage because I can't hear any footsteps and all seems quite, but I bring up the lights and the wrong set of people are onstage.
Yes, I know the DSM should cue me but we don't have one.

Thanks for the help, much appreciated.
Did another Google search and found a tube of U video which showed which fields needed clicking in the CMS setup. Not all that logical in my opinion.
Also found a different bit of software which was easy to set up and didn't need a manual.
Using either bit of software on my laptop, running either Win7 or Win10 there was about a 2 sec delay between movement in front of the camera and movement on-screen.
Is this normal?

The perils of buying from AliExpress.... did you get a user manual with it?
Yes I did but don't understand most of it.

Bought one of these, it arrived yesterday https://www.aliexpress.com/item/2-0MP-1080P-HD-IP-Camera-SAE60-NX3C2004M/32284450248.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.22384c4dtfjvig
Looks like what I need. Connects via IP address via a router to my laptop.
However the supplied software, and setup instructions are beyond me.
Video is not one of my areas in which I have any knowledge.
Seems to want a old version of Firefox and a plugin that doesn't appear to be availble.
Any recommendations for software that I can use?
Doesn't need to support multiple cameras, record facility, sound, remote access etc.
Just need to send an image from the camera to my laptop.
Only need to see what is happening onstage during a blackout.

No it doesn't Gerry; there are a number of subtle problems, by far the most annoying of which is the labels for the desk buttons don't appear.
Which makes selecting which desk one wants a bit of a game of Russian Roulette.
That is only true for Win 10 64 bit.
Labels appear OK if you use Win 10 32 bit.
Here is the .pcs file running on my Win 10 32 bit
What other subtle differences have you noticed?

Hi
I'm after an IR CCTV camera just foe seeing who is/isn't on stage during a blackout.
Needs a 10-12 mm focus lens because of where it will be placed and usable over about 15-20 metres.
Preferably one which will connect to a VGA PC monitor as I have a few spare ones.
Also must be fairly cheap, less than €50 as I will be buying it myself, out of my OAP and it will only be used 2-4 times a year.
I've looked on Ebay, AliExprees and Banggood but there are lots of cameras but the searches don't seem to show any matching my criteria.
Any ideas?

Are those QTXs fanned? If so, subjectively, how loud????
Just bought 6 of the QTX 6-in-1 units.
Had all six running in my dinning room at home and sound level, measured on my Android phone, was just under 50db at 2 mtrs distance.
Expect them to sound quieter in a larger room/ theatre.
Quite impressed with the light output and particularly the smooth dim up and down from and to zero.
Much better units than any others I have used in this sort of price range.

I hope someone takes up your offer of the code.
If I was a competent programmer I would love to support/ develop the software.
To me it's the best piece of lighting control software I have found.

Black Gaffer Tape 48/ 50 mm wide
in General Technical Chat
Posted
Sorry should have replied before.
Thanks for all the advice.
I found some gaffa tape made by Tessa here in Spain in my local supermarket.
Rips OK and left some, wrapped around a steel pipe out in the sun, usually 35 deg C plus, for a few days.
Unwrapped cleanly without any residue.
So it will do me.
Cheers
