  1. Manual says vertical jet and "keep in flat position" - what did you do with the fluid container when you had them firing horizontal? Could be a small amount of fluid dripping or syphoning through the pump if the rubber seals in the pump are dried out or worn.

The bottle was upright next to the machine. I bought these because at the time the Chauvet DJ units were unavailable and they definitely can be used odd ways around. The machines have not had hard use, ie a couple of shows a year since bought. It may well be a case of they wont work properly except upright

  2. I have a pair of these machines. On the whole they are really good but this year for our panto I used them horizontal across the stage. I dont believe this caused the random smoke jetting. Not a huge amount but a lot more than I recall when using them last year. They are DMX controlled . I started of wireless then went hard wired with a terminator. Nothing stopped it. No the show has finished I will do a soak test not connected to a desk to see if it still does it. Its like its getting short fog control spike, but I have no idea where it might be from
  3. Me thinks that if half the time spent posting here had been spent filtering the fixtures files down to ones required, then the problem would have been solved days ago!

I have to say as soemone who first had a sirius that the Frog with a floppy was great step forwards. Say ten years ago usb memory sticks were hugely expensive compare with a 3.5" disk.

  4. Those same corporate or educational environments will have long had the kit written off against tax. Its not been made for ten years or so. Its different for me with my tiny company. Not VAT registered. Pay the going rate for a desk and maybe get enough use over ten years to pay for it. In real life that never happens.

A laptop on a wifi can be outside the security of the organisation. I actually work for a small broadcaster, well not that small, and can hook up to a wifi with no danger to the security integrity of their systems.

It seems cherry picking moaning because Zero 88 are not falling over themselves ENOUGH to help those with older kit. I have phoned up for support with my desks and had instant advice. If not urgent I email or bulletin board the question. As I said before never more than 24 hours for a reply

£16 for the emulator. 10 minutes to fix. No bugs!

I cant believe no one has an old £100 laptop that can have the fixture tool on it. Zero88 have always replied within a day when I question things about my old Leapfrog. That is good enough for me.

ps Microsoft dont support XP now. That is one of the very biggest companies in the world with tens of thousands of employees. Have you contacted them about the fact your old pcs are no longer supported?

Out of interest, what is an enterprise organisation?

  6. This is a superb bit of work. Are you thinking with a big enough heatsink you could do away with both fans or is one cooling the original electronics? I have som TAS mini 2ultrascans. Really I should sell them as I do mainly theatre and fan noise does matter. But for certain musical type things revues etc. they would be great with a new life! By the way I see on Farnell it suggests 42v as a supply was this a typo on your part?

By the way having read the thread again I realise your picture is effectively a grown ups airfix kit :) Use humbrol paints to colour it to choice!
