  1. Hi theatretechie I would be keen to see a scanned copy of your manual for Gelstream. Please email to robert.wood25@virgin.net Thanks
  2. Hi Sam look at the info on the unit. 2 of the DMX input pins are for analogue: 5 is + and 4, 0V if I remember correctly. You also need to throw a switch on the back plate to change the mode. Then you can inject a small voltage say 1.5V from a battery and something should happen. Does rather sound like a drive issue. keep an eye on the 3rd led, amber I think which indicates a jam, tensioning is critical. Slow movement could be down to a power supply issue. A multimeter will confirm this.
  3. You have not said exactly what the problem is but I can tell you what little I know about these things. Yes there is an analogue input option by selector switch . the input pinning is marked on the header. Try that with a dc voltage up to 10V ( battery perhaps). What are the 3 leds telling you? Could the unit be in "sulk" mode because of a mechanical problem. Scroll tension is absolutely vital with Gelstream. I have had to tweek mine many times to get them to run properly. Also there is a potentiometer to set the scroll length. I do have some documentation from AC lighting but no circuit diagrams. If you want to see a copy send me some means of contact ( Email?) In my situation driving with analogue was the best option so I built a simple controller.
