When I was a kid, my dad put on some fairly high quality productions in our small village hall.

Two major management items needed attending during performances.

The first was to tie up the ballcock to the header tank that fed the Gents toilet, as this otherwise noisily refilled during the show. It was released for the interval.

The second, much more important, was keeping the electric meter fed with 50ps to avoid unwanted blackouts in the middle of the show.

A similar issue occurred several times in schools and village halls to my knowledge.

All lighting works fine for rehearsals, but about fifteen minutes before the first interval, pop goes the power as two or three tea urns are switched on.

  2. I can confirm that only one company, GE/Tungsram, made that lamp, and they have stopped manufacturing entertainment lamps. To my knowledge there are no possible alternatives. So if you find any, grab them!

Ah really useful, thank you all!

If I go down the interior walls/floor then it would only be on when events are on so not too dear to run.

However, the window route would be great and I'll check out some other options for that!

I was imagining a little projection onto the pavement through the window but something in the window itself lit up would be better yes.

@kerry daviesWill talk to SU and Guild near Leamington for sure! great idea. We do have a budget, but not a huge amount but would like the space to be nice too.

AC have some ex-demo LED profiles on their Clearance List. E-mail me if you want more information peter.nesbitt@ac-et.com

Congratulations @Rob Halliday and team for putting this stand together so well - it was really special to have the opportunity to program and run an Artisan with a VL2 & VL4.

One of the revelations was realising every key was backlit by its own incandescent lamp...

Then there was the LP desk. Three presets, and each fader had two indicators - one red, one white - which, by means of a microswitch in the fader, selected the "group" for that fader. As it was all by relays, the desk required. So an 80 way desk had 480 indicators. if my memory serves,  a three phase 32A supply was required.

  5. I'm afraid this soon will become irrelevant, as there a few if any lamps remaining for sale. They haven't been made for years, and I think by now most remaining stocks of both CSI and CID have been hunted down

For any machines made by Smoke Factory such as  the Tourhazer, Data2, CaptainD or Spaceball only Distilled Water (not Deionised) should be run through our Machines before 'retiring them' for a while. Absolutely no other cleaner or substance should be used.

I'll second that. Distilled water is usually a safe bet for cleaning the pipes.

  7. It's not great, but Osram are producing some T class at present. AC-ET have T19, T25 and T27 in stock, and T29 on order.

    Also in stock GKV800, HPL575, HPL750

CP60/61/62 are all gone, but there is a chance of some CP62 in the New Year.

However, I don't know how long they will continue to make entertainment lamps. In global terms were are a tiny segment, and may not be viable.
