  1. Philharmonia Orchestra have a load of these sat in their store so might be worth giving them a call - ask to speak to Luke Ritchie in their digital department
  2. I would second the use of OBS.ninja - very easy for the user end and does allow for the talkback etc. Would also give you individual audio feeds for each user. Other option is to get them to record themselves on their laptops while on the call (could use quicktime if on a mac) then you just sync that later. Thst would be best qualilty but more complicated for the user
  3. Hello Thanks - I'm on mac and seem to be finding the audio sync with window capture is very variable which is annoying. I may try on windows at some point. Interesting re. the dropped bits - we were speech so wouldn't have spotted that Richard
  4. Hello I'm needing to stream a zoom call to youtube (ideally via OBS as we need to do some things that the direct zoom stream wouldn't allow), I have tried this with window capture however I'm having issues with the video being out of sync. I can do it via a display capture but this is a bit ugly with the mouse etc. I've also tried with NDI and seem to need a 700ms delay on the audio but need to check if this is consistent Have people found a "best way" to do this? I am on a mac.. Richard
  5. I've just this week done something similar - with one presenter presenting to two separate zoom calls, with at times the two calls being able to communicate to each other, and other times being de-linked. It worked fine but may be difficult to scale up to twenty calls..
  6. For future reference I found a supplier - protectiveTextiles.co.uk - who can do clear plastic FR from 0.25mm thick (and thicker) designed for tents and similar. It's not cheap but is totally clear and has no stamps. It only comes in 5' wide rolls which is a bit annoiying..
  7. Hello I need to drape a venue in plastic for a show, so ideally want the material to be fire retardant. Has anyone had any joy with finding suitable stuff anywhere? Thanks Richard
  8. If no one else wants it I’ll take it off your hands and try and build it into a table - not sure when I’m next in Cambridge but could pop over easily enough
  9. Gosh - it was replaced by an express just as I left in 1997 (at the same time as a big refurb that ripped out the seats and ruined the accoustics!)
  10. Are you at HRSFC? If so that's the first memory lighting desk I ever worked with!!
  11. I know a theatre that's using https://inplayer.com/ which they seem happy with
  12. I think I will leave off - the console isn’t likely to get regular use so it seems a lot safer. Thanks!
  13. Good news - removing battery and giving the board a good clean seems to have fixed it!! Finger crossed it will now be fine for another 20 years.. Thanks all for the assistance! Richard
  14. Thanks - massively useful. I’ve chopped the old battery out and will give the board a gentle scrub when the pcb cleaner arrives. I’m a bit worried that a couple of components may have died - will give it all a clean and try them but any idea what they are? I can’t plug the desk in at the minute as I’ve taken that board out and it has the vga card on it! Will see if the test software is on there when I do though.. Photo of the board without battery at https://share.icloud.com/photos/0uLRPPST0Oj-yKXgX6YYApK8w
  15. On further inspection there appears to be a very corroded batter on the board - RS/farnell only seems to sell 150mah versions in a similar form factor (original is 120mah) do we think that would work? My link
  16. Thanks all - desk wasn't moved - I think someone was just fiddling. It worked for the first few hours or the day then suddenly died (all the subs values jumped to full then no longer physically worked), so I think it is something electronic.
  17. Hello I assumed that - however it’s an odd coincidence! Richard
  18. Hi All I'bve been using a very old 520 for a show recently (the show file that was loaded when I turned it on was from 2014 so it hadn't been out of the case for a while!) It worked great until just before the final performance when suddenly the subs stopped working and the LCDs went blank (although DMX still outputs and all the buttons still work) The midi port also stopped working which was unfortunate as we were using Qlab to fire MSC into it. Luckily we got through the show and since it was the final one it wasn't a disaster, but I would like to get the desk fixed for old times sake. Does anyone have any idea what may have happened? I have a suspiscion it was to do with the midi as I noticed that someone had re-plugged the midi so my adaptor went from the in to the thru, which shouldn't cause a problem but seemed to have happened that day so seems unlikley to be a co-incidence. Any ideas appreciated! Richard
  19. Thanks - I have used Isadora for some other projects but really dislike the node-based programming style (it's a personal preference rather than a judgement on that piece of software)
  20. People might find this blog post I've written about my experiences making a piece of streaming theatre quite interesting - I had to get my head around a load of different technologies to make it all work. Was a fun challenge! Any thoughts appreciated! Bringing a conversation online
  21. Hi All Just to let you know I'm standing for the ABTT council this year, while TBR and the ABTT have an interesting history I am a big supporter of the work of the organisation. If anyone here is an ABTT member and would like to vote for me it would be much appreciated - you should have had the voting email this morning! Richard
  22. Hi All I'm after some kind of panel mount socket to use for 12v power, to fit in a cut out meant for an XLR (in one of the tech pro style boxes from canford) - any ideas as to what is best? Thanks! Richard
  23. I'm certain that recently a lot of unique's have got noisier than they used to. I have had a few new ones that make an absolute racket but am assured that is *normal*
  24. how many people can you put in a one man gennee ride?
