There's a book been written by someone involved with the investigation and legal claims that followed the disaster. It's an engrossing but sobering read. (Amazon link)

 

What's quite alarming is that, whilst a number of factors combined to cause the deaths, I've seen quite a number of the individual elements crop up at shows I've worked myself. Overcrowding, blocked exits, unauthorised amateur pyro, flammable sets and soundproofing. I've pointed a few people in the direction of the harrowing YouTube footage when they've complained about me insisting that improvements need to be made.
