stage weights

You might find some old stage weights might be 12.73 Kg.

That was 2 stones or 28 pounds or ¼ Cwt pre metrication.

So 12.5 Kg is approx the same weight as they have always been.

Cheers

Gerry

Old enough to remember stones, pounds, cwts etc <_<

You can also get the bigger 25kg weights

A place I worked at a few years ago had some double weights (56lbs in old money) which we called cheeseweights. With one in each hand, you had to be careful not to swing your arms, or else you arrived a bit faster than you necessarily intended....a stageweight was 28lbs (or 12.5kgish as they are now). Except for Chas's weights at Halls of course - but he's twice my height, so he can manage the extra weight....no offence meant Chas!
