Yorkie
I have with me one of these mics and could do with knowing its value. Google hasn't brought up much other than that it's "budget", I wouldn't be surprised if the answer's £20. I'm talking about a discontinued mic - not it's more recent relative with a similar name:http://www.audiogear.com/Resources/AKGd3700.jpg (AKG product page here) . adamburgess
I bought five of those about 10 years ago from Sound Control for £80-90 each. I got them in a hurry 'cause they had no 58s in. adamburgess
So how do they compare to the sm58 Adam? John Denim. Been a long time since I used them but (tries to explain sounds in words…) a brighter, almost brittle?, slightly raspy sound compared to a 58? I also had a 3800 which was better and "nice and warm" which got lost somewhere. The 3700s were used for vox in a pub/club band and they did work fine. Strange shape to hold, though.
