Told the people (not riggers) hanging the screens that it was dodgy etc. They did change the truss for something a bit heavier, but only after it started 'smiling'. They were hanging about 1.5 tonnes of screen from it. Apparently the motor got like that after the chain had wrapped itself round the body and someone kept their finger on the button, not noticing what was happening.
