We have an exciting opportunity for a Casual Theatre Technician to join our existing professional team of full and part time staff at the Core Theatre.

Due to the current situation at the Core (Core Theatre auditorium: RAAC closure update | solihull.gov.uk), with the theatre being temporarily closed, part of our programme including the pantomime run will take place at the Artrix in Bromsgrove as well as in the studio space at the Core, Solihull. Hours will include evenings and weekends, but we can be flexible, with working hours based around your personal commitments.

The Core Theatre has an exciting programme that we are really pleased to be able to continue across the two venues. The very successful pantomime will transfer to the Bromsgrove Artrix this will be a great opportunity to develop your experience on a highly regarded production.

In addition to the pantomime there will be a range of other performances ranging from local drama groups to national commercial promoters both in Core Studio, Solihull and the Artrix Theatre in Bromsgrove.

The Core Theatre will be your base and you will be reimbursed for any additional travel costs/time to the Artrix for the period of the current arrangement.

As a Casual Core Theatre Technician, you will:

  • Work as part of the Theatre Technical Team providing technical and front of house services for The Core.
  • Be responsible for the lighting and sound including the rigging and focusing of lights.
  • Set up of theatre equipment including stage sets, PA systems, and ICT equipment for events
  • Ensure suitable Health & Safety risk assessments are conducted and recorded.

You will have previous technical experience of working in a theatrical or venue environment, be able work on your own initiative and be an excellent communicator.

You will also be able to work at height, and due to the nature of the role, be able to work evening, weekends and bank holidays.
