Motorised fader cleaning

Looking for some advice.

I've (well, the school) been given an LS932. All seems to work fine but a couple of the faders are sticking, not always returning to the bottom or not quite reaching correct position, I don't think it's just calibration.

I've had a search online and there's conflicting information and opinions mainly revolving around 'Deoxit' products, for some it is a miracle product, for some it destroys the faders!

Thoughts please! 🙂

Not a clue but I would ring  01495-202000 and ask Penny and Giles down in darkest Nine Mile Point.

from memory these are belt drive so the first port of call would be a new belt. They may just be slipping.

There are a number of different Deoxit products which have to be used correctly to give the wanted results. If you use D5 (their best known cleaner) on faders you must then use Faderlube or some other type of lubrication afterwards as D5 removes all the lubrication. If you don't replace the lubrication you will end up with very noisy faders. Kevin has more experience than I do with motorised faders so I'd go along with his suggestion of trying new belts first.

They're an ALPS fader, belt driven. I've got the same ones in my Roland M-480. If you're handy with soldering then they can be had for not a lot of money and replaced.
