Hi

 

I have 4 screens all with SDI in and out and an SDI CCTV camera, do I need something in between them as I am not getting any picture.

 

Its a Marshall V-R44DP-SDI

There's different breeds of SDI.

 

It looks like the Marshall unit is an older standard, judging by the 4:3 ratio on the screens. (Also, it mentions 525i and 625i signals, which are not HD)

 

Modern equipment uses HD-SDI which may well be what your camera is sending. There are different standards for that too - you'll see mentions of 3G, 6G, and even 12G capabilities which lets you run progressively higher resolutions and faster frame rates.

 

One thing to see is if your camera can lower its output resolution. Chances are it won't go lower than 720p but it's worth a look.
