here's a user manual ... it's been literally about 15 years since I used an 01V so sorry I can't do much more than that

Probably better not to use an insert for a reverb as it will only work on the channel where the insert is.

 

An aux send is more flexible and will allow you to feed multiple sources to the reverb and then bring it back into the mix on a stereo channel or aux return.

Long time 01v96 user here - What are you trying to achieve and what is your experience so far of the 01v96?

 

It would be good to understand what external reverb unit you would like to use, how you would like to plug it in and what you want to achieve with it that the internal effects units can't do.
