A Marshall (London) Ltd

While delving through various "bits" boxes today, I came across several old Marshalls component bags. In the pre-Birt Beeb days we quite often took a car-load of people armed with shopping lists up to Cricklewood Broadway.to buy components for the latest projects (the various shops, like Henry's, in Tottenham Court & Edgeware Roads were more for browsing than serious shopping).

I discovered a few years ago that Cricklewood Electronics are now at the same address, with the same phone number (though 0208- rather than 01- ) &, while specialising on CCTV, still stock quite a wide range of "standard" components, but I have no idea whether it is the same people or whether Marshalls vanished & someone else took over the premises - we have a local electrical & electronic "bits" shop that has had at least 4 different (totally unconnected) owners over the years.

Long ago, my first Saturday job in the Glasgow branch of Marshall's. To be honest, Marshall's lost out when Maplin started to expand around the country. As far as I know Cricklewood Electronics rose from the ashes of the Cricklewood Broadway branch, but the other branches closed.
