Driver and Warehouse Assistant

Reports to: Transport Logistics Co-ordinator

Based: Reading Branch

About the Role

You will be collecting and delivering our essential equipment to and from a variety of destinations on a daily basis. As the face of SFL Group in one of our Fleet vehicles you will spend your day meeting clients, customers and suppliers and supporting this core function of our business.

When you're not on the road, you will be able to support the wider Reading Warehouse team with their general duties, such as preparing equipment for hire or resetting it when it has been returned.

A normal day will also include:

• Loading and unloading vehicles. Ensuring that the equipment is secured well and the vehicle is evenly balanced.

• Simple maintenance of the Fleet vehicles (e.g. check fluid levels and clean the vehicle exterior and interior).

• Driving safely and minimising risks of accidents, fines and infringements.

• Supporting the team with maintaining a clean and safe warehouse on a daily basis

 

 

Person Specification:

• Must be over 21 – due to vehicle insurance restrictions.

• Clean and current full driving licence, and have had the licence for a minimum of 2 years.

• Ability to control and drive vehicles of varied nature and size.

• Ability to conduct affairs with courtesy and integrity.

• Ability to read and understand documentation relating to vehicles.

• Understanding and observation of the Highway Code and other current traffic and motoring regulations.

• To be able to demonstrate the ability to load and unload vehicles efficiently and safely

• Able to move and lift heavy objects and undertake full driving duties.

 

Hours: 9.00-5.30, Monday to Friday. Overtime is voluntary, but available.

Location: SFL. Unit 5, Headley Park 10, Woodley, Reading, RG5 4SW

Salary range: starting around £17,142, plus 9% non contributory pension
