Pete Alcock
Hi all, Quick question; I'm repairing a comms headset for a mate - it's an identical clone of a Canford one, from eBay I believe - and I can't get the headset bit apart to examine the wiring. The XLR connections are fine, the earpiece works OK, and the mic capsule on its boom is fine. Is there some magic hidden clip that allows you to get inside the earcup? Thanks as always, Pete. Shez
I don't have one in front of me to check but doesn't the name plate on the outside of the earpiece come off to reveal screws underneath?
paulears
Yep - prise the small insert off, and the screw is there!
Pete Alcock
Paul, Shez, thanks for the speedy reply. Unfortunately on this headset there's no pop-off nameplate, insert or panel - it's just a solid cup moulding. Most odd.
Andrew C
These? If so, take the foam off, and prise the centre bit out of the shell with a screwdriver. Now get a plaster for the palm of your hand. http://www.blue-room.org.uk/public/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif
Pete Alcock
Thanks Andrew, Yep, you got it! That's the answer. First aid kit standing by :-) All the best, Pete.
