DanSteely
Hi Chaps, I need to make up some short (2M & 3M) guitar leads and was going to use balanced mic cable (as time is of the essence) In this scenario, would members: A. Ground one of the cores to the screen B. Use both cores as the signal lead I realise this is less than optimal but needs must. It's for a school and not mission critical. OddSocks
At that length it's unlikely to make much difference, but if it was me I would use the screen as ground and one of the cores as the signal and completely miss out the second core. timsabre
I'd link both cores as signal and use the screen as ground, for improved functionality when someone tries to use it as a speaker cable.
sandall
I'm with Tim on that.
skinda0
I'd link both cores as signal and use the screen as ground, for improved functionality when someone tries to use it as a speaker cable. Built in redundancy!
DanSteely
Great stuff. Great logic. Many thanks.
OddSocks
Higher capacitive loading. But as I said on that length of cable it's not going to make a difference.
