In 2016 Black Light became an Employee Owned Company where 80% of the Shares are held in a Trust for all Members of Staff, that have passed their qualifying period. This was done to help ensure the success of the Company is shared with the people that drive that success and the company has a strong secure future. Throughout the UK there are around 400 Employee Owned Companies, and the number continues to grow. They are generally more successful than other business models with Employees having a means of inputting to the future.

Black Light is currently undergoing a restructuring of the business, as part of this we have created this senior role in the Design and Estimation Team which has responsibility for the design and pricing of Installation works. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Sales but will also work closely with the Installation Operations Manager to ensure Black Light delivers as an organisation to its employee’s, customer’s and vendor’s.

 

 

The roll will involve;

• Manage the Installation function of the Design and Estimation Team.

• Estimation of Installation Works.

• Ensure estimations are returned on time to the Sales team.

• Propose Creative solutions to both internal and external clients.

• Oversee system design and specification.

• Finding Innovative solutions using modern and cost-effective technology to ensure the best experience for the end user.

• Using computer design software to produce plans and other system design layouts.

• Building strategic relationships with Vendors.

• Advising colleagues of new products to market.

• Liaising with construction organisations and clients prior to commencement onsite.

• Assist in improving the efficiency of the operational requirement to improve customer satisfaction, profitability and ensuring the company image is maintained.

• Participate in the sales strategy for the organisation.

• Participate in internal pre-commencement project handovers with operations.

• Participate in Installation Project Reviews.

 

 

 

Your requirements;

• Knowledge and understanding of latest Stage Entertainment and Architainment technologies.

• Knowledge of current building regulations that may impact on our portfolio of work.

• Knowledge of current H&S legislation i.e. LOLER.

• Working knowledge of design software including CAD, Relux and other industry related software.

• Strong communication.

• Ability to work under pressure to given time line.

• Driving Licence, with ability to drive vehicles up to 3.5t

• Polite, friendly and approachable by colleagues and clients.

• IT skills. (Microsoft Office)

• Time Management

• Understanding of the construction industry procedures and terminology.

• Attention to detail

 

Advantageous to the role;

• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Nav.

• Experience of installation in the entertainment and architainment sectors.

• CSCS card holder.

• Revit and knowledge of Building Information Modelling.
