Black Light is a leading provider of light, stage, sound and AV solutions. Our track record speaks for itself: We have been supplying products and services to schools, theatres, exhibitions, conferences, trade shows, heritage centres and private clients for over 35 years.

 

In 2016 Black Light became an Employee Owned Company where 80% of the Shares are held in a Trust for all Members of Staff, that have passed their qualifying period. This was done to help ensure the success of the Company is shared with the people that drive that success and the company has a strong secure future. Throughout the UK there are around 400 Employee Owned Companies, and the number continues to grow. They are generally more successful than other business models with Employees having a means of inputting to the future.

Black Light is currently undergoing a restructuring of the business and as part of this we have created this Sales Manager (Projects) role which has responsibility for inbound leads for new opportunities and the management of these opportunities from proposal through to winning the sale. The role will involve working closely with our design and estimation team and suppliers to deliver workable, sustainable and profitable solutions for Black Light.

 

The roll will involve;

• Deliver high class customer sales service by working closely with our clients and partners to understand their needs and ensure delivery of our proposal to their exact requirements in the expected timeline

• Develop an excellent understanding of our products and service offerings, with the ability to discuss in detail with our clients and partners, cross sell and spot new opportunities to improve margin and revenue performance, and always deliver quality sales

• Represent Black Light in a professional manner and be our primary contact in selected Network groups and exhibitions

• Monitor all activity throughout the sales process from inception to winning the sales, ensuring projects proposals are delivered on time

• Manage your sales pipeline to ensure continuous increase in sales and increased turnover

• Provide reporting on sales pipeline versus targets and milestones, write tenders and specification documentation for clients in an organised, accurate and professional way

• Enhance sales through existing and new client relationships, developing business and spotting strategic commercial opportunities for Black Light

• Understand Black Light’s strategic goals and continually open up new streams of work in conjunction with the this strategic overview

• Liaise with the Designers and Estimators to ensure pricing is accurate and delivered on time

• Understand Turnover against margin and ensure that items and services sold to the client are always to the commercial benefit of the company

• Ensure there is a clear handover to the project delivery teams of all business won to ensure the project is understood and aiding them in a smooth installation process.

• Drive the Sales function of Black Light, advocate a culture of strong customer service, sales and business development within the wider Black Light team

• Lead by example and inspire others within the Black Light team to have the drive and desire to sell to our customers

• Contribute and aid with improvements to the overall sales and marketing function,

 

Your requirements;

• Thorough knowledge of theatre and event audio, visual and production equipment

• Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets

• Working in a multichannel environment e.g. Face to Face, Telephone, E Mail

• Target driven

• Team player

• Self motivated

 

Advantageous to the role;

• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Nav.

• Relationship building with people at varying levels of seniority

• Already working in the Theatre and Event market place
