I am not sure whether the timing issues are the same across the different net protocols, artnet, sACN, MAnet etc. Maybe MA came up with the 75m thing just to cover all bases, including patch cables at the end and what have you. Tomo Posted June 22, 2018 Share Posted June 22, 2018 The length limits are limits of Ethernet over the physical medium. It doesn't matter which protocol is running over the top of Ethernet. What does tend to happen is that packet loss goes through the roof. In some cases the ends may renegotiate a slower link speed - maybe degrading to 10Mb/s in a vain attempt to get something through. So something like MAnet completely and utterly dies because it really needs a lot of bidirectional bandwidth, while something like sACN or Art-Net will vaguely struggle on because they don't need much bandwidth.
