Location: Sterling Event Group, Unit 1B & 2 Ringway Trading Estate, Manchester M22 5LH.

 

 

Salary: 34K – 40K + overtime

 

 

Job Type: Permanent full time

As part of our ongoing expansion plans we have the opportunity for a Head of Lighting to join our busy team. The successful applicant will be creative,customer focused, have varied lighting experience in the Live Events industry and have a good understanding of general live event production technologies. They will be at home in a fast paced, hands on environment and thrive under pressure.

 

 

Key Roles / Responsibilities

 

• Lighting design and preparation of CAD drawings
• Programming and operation of event lighting systems
• Hands on leading of setup and de rigs at events of various sizes and types, particularly in the corporate and private events sectors across the UK and overseas.
• Working as part of a team on large productions
• Dealing with clients, suppliers, venue staff and crew both onsite and prior to the event to help ensure we deliver a flawless event and exceed our client's expectations.
• Managing the preparation process of our equipment to ensure the highest standards are met
• Managing the general servicing / maintenance and repairs of our lighting inventory
• Research and organise demonstrations of new products to allow you to advise on investments for our lighting department

 

Required Skills

 

• Extensive experience in event lighting essential
• Experience with rigging within the entertainment industry
• Good working knowledge of Avolites Titan and GrandMA consoles an advantage
• Ability to work at height
• Excellent communication skills with a strong focus on customer service
• High standard of personal presentation
• Ability to work as part of a team or unaccompanied under own initiative
• Ability to thrive under the pressure of a live event
• Attention to detail
• Ability to problem solve and to work to deadlines
• High self-motivation and the ability to lead by example
• Flexibility and a can do attitude
• Full UK Driving License

 

Training and Career Progression

 

We are recruiting an experienced individual however ongoing training will be provided as required. Opportunities will be available to learn new skills with the latest technology. Career progression within the company will be available.

 

 

WorkingHours

 

If you have the experience we are looking for then you will already know that this isn't a 9 till 5 job. Due to the nature of our industry we require our employees to have a flexible approach to their working hours. Typically, your working day if not working out onsite would be 08.30 till 17.30 Monday to Friday. Work outside of these hours and at weekends will be required as our workload / projects permit. We try hard to manage a work life balance for our team.
