Richard CSL Posted February 14, 2018 Share Posted February 14, 2018 So I am looking to run Chamsys Magic Q and Pangolin Quickshow 3 on one laptop and magic HD for video on another. Do I need a network switch between the two. Do I have to but the midi device for Chamsys. (or can I use some sort of midi loop.be software? Tomo Posted February 15, 2018 Share Posted February 15, 2018 While not strictly necessary, it is more reliable to have a network switch in between. A lot of laptops have an energy saving feature whereby the network connection will not wake up if there isn't a network device at the other end.So it's quite easy to end up with both ends waiting for the other one to wake up before they'll wake up.
