Roderick Posted February 8, 2018 Share Posted February 8, 2018 A little while ago the HDD in my Pioneer PRV-LX1 DVD recorder died.Found a replacement HDD which I bought and installed. It also required a firmware update.All went well until I had to reboot to system. It goes through the start-up routine but then comes to a grinding halt displaying 'CHNGE REGION' on the machine and instructions to inset a DVD disk on the output monitor.I have tried every type of DVD I could lay my hands on: commercial, home-burned, empty, but all display the same symptom, the machine shuts down and when I reboot I end up in Ground Hog Day.I have the service manual don't it offers no solutions.
