Pete Alcock
I've been amazed by the performance of the D&B Y series. I'm interested to know what drivers are used in their manufacture. I'm sure D&B have them specially tweaked for their own purpose but they must be a derivative of something in the standard B&C range. Please note this is an "academic interest" thing, that could lead to sawing up plywood just to see what could be achieved. It's not an attempt to infringe IPR or pass-off or anything sinister like that, and I'm well aware that a great deal of the D&B sound comes from both crossover design and clever DSP in the amp. I also get that with a brand like D&B you buy the system, the name, the reliability etc. etc... However, I am fascinated by the dipole format and being a practical sort, there is a home-construction itch that I've got to scratch. Thanks.
