HIRE TECHNICIAN / DRIVER (OVER 21 YEARS OLD)

 

Innovation Productions Ltd are a busy hire and productionoperation based in Barnsley, Yorkshire, specialising in the hire,installation and sales of audio, lighting, AV and staging equipment.

 

We currently have a vacancy for a full time hire technician.

 

Salary:

 

• £17200 to £18,800 (Dependant on experience / qualifications) per annumbased on 45 hours per week. With 28 days holiday per annum(inclusive of bank holidays).

 

Location

 

• Based at our Barnsley Headquarters, although delivery & site workwould be nationally and involve occasional overnight stays.

 

Hours of Work

 

• Due to the nature of the theatre, TV and events industry, evening andweekend work will form part of this roles working pattern. Working hoursare on a flexi time basis.

 

Reports to:

 

• Project Manager.

 

Scope:

 

To represent Innovation Productions Ltd at all times with a high level of pride,responsibility, care and consideration.

To be an integral part of the hire departments operations.

To ensureequipment is prepared and deliveries happen on time, safely and in the bestpossible condition.

To assist with set up, preparation and occasional operation of hire equipment.

 

General Duties:

 

• Prepare equipment for hire and produce relevant paperwork.
• Help clients load / unload equipment.
• Help set up equipment when required
• Operate equipment for events as required
• Check equipment back into stock on return and to update the hire stocksoftware
• Test equipment as required
• Clean and maintain equipment to a high standard
• Repair / arrange repair of equipment as required
• Perform administration required for the hire operation
• Build indoor and outdoor stages.
• Make deliveries / collections in suitable vehicle, Van / truck.
• Safe loading of vehicles
• Vehicles check
• Maintain a log of driver hours
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance

Other Duties:

• Answer telephones and arrange hires.
• Assist on installations as and when required.
• Any other duties deemed suitable by the management

 

Skills:

• Previous indepth experience of lighting, sound, video and staging.Good practical electrical knowledge
• Excellent time keeping skills
• Good phone manner, with strong interpersonal communication skillsGood computer and writing skills.
• To have a good willingness to learn, and aptitude to become highlycompetent in the use of equipment at Innovation Productions Ltd
• Ability to work under pressure and to resolve situations calmly anddiplomatically.
• Neat appearance.
• A cheerful, positive 'can do' attitude

• Attention to detail and pride in work
• Confident driving of 3.5T vans.
• Clean Drivers License.
• Ability to work at heights safely and confidently
• Strong and Healthy, able and willing.

Advantageous Skills:

• Driving license for categories, B+E, C and C1.
• Forklift truck / telehandler license
• Health and Safety Training
• Industry related training (Pasma / IPAF etc)
• First AidEducation:
• Good standard of education (English GCSE A-C) including Maths /English
• University Education preferred but not essential
• Industry related education preferred but not essentialElectrical / electronic qualifications preferred but not essential

Training

 

• Training will be offered to suitable candidates for certain skill sets.

• Interested applicants must be prepared to learn to drive vehicles up to 18 ton.
