adam2 Posted January 27, 2018 Share Posted January 27, 2018 I think that I have seen halogen Fresnel lights fitted with LED conversion units in use recently. Small scale filming for a documentary programme, not live theatre. 4 lights in use and powered from a vehicle electrical system via an inverter. Could not do that with 650 watt halogens ! four of them would draw over 250 amps at 12 volts and discharge the battery in minutes even with the engine running. The light output was subjectively impressive and appeared slightly cooler than actual daylight, which does vary a fair bit. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
timsabre Posted January 27, 2018 Share Posted January 27, 2018 There's plenty of fresnels designed with led sources now, it wouldn't necessarily be led conversion. I can't really see much of a market for these led lamp retrofits since you can buy a complete fixture with integral DMX control of brightness for about the same cost.
