Reporting to: Directors

 

Location: Sterling Event Group, Unit 1B & 2 Ringway Trading Estate, Manchester M22 5LH.

 

Job Type: Permanent full time

 

Salary: £28'000- £33'000 + overtime and benefits

As part of our continuing expansion plans which for January 2018 include significant investment in our audio department with the arrival of a substantial d&b Audiotechnik V series line array system we have the opportunity for an experienced live sound engineer to join our team.

 

Key Roles / Responsibilities

  • Rigging and operating audio equipment for events of various sizes and types, for events across the UK.
  • Working as part of a team on large productions
  • The ability to lead a team of freelance staff and represent the company
  • Dealing with clients, suppliers, venue staff and crew both onsite and prior to the event to help ensure we deliver a flawless event and exceed our client's expectations.
  • Preparing and maintaining our equipment in our warehouse
  • Delivering / collecting equipment in the company vehicles (Full UK driving license required)
  • Assisting in other departments to suit the needs of the business

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years previous experience as a live events sound engineer is essential
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong focus on customer service
  • Knowledge of Yamaha digital mixing consoles
  • High standard of personal presentation
  • Ability to work as part of a team or unaccompanied under own initiative
  • Ability to thrive under the pressure of a live event
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to problem solve and to work to deadlines
  • High self-motivation and the ability to lead by example
  • Flexibility and a can do attitude
  • Full UK Driving License

 

Training and Career Progression

 

Ongoing training will be provided as required. Opportunities will be available to learn new skills with the latest technology. Excellent career progression opportunities within our expanding company will be available.

 

 

Working Hours

Due to the nature of our industry we require our employees to have a flexible approach to their working hours. Typically your working day would be 08.30 till 17.30 Monday to Friday. Work outside of these hours and at weekends will be required as our workload and projects permits.

28 days.
