Warehouse Manager – Job Description

 

Location: London

 

Salary: From £25,000 - £30,000 depending upon experience.

 

Event Operations Ltd is a vibrant, multi-faceted event production resource. We deliver creative production for corporate, public and private events; design engaging guest experiences; engineer AV installations and conceive beautiful, brand-immersive environments.

 

Much of our work is delivered in three of London's most flexible and exciting event spaces where we are proud to be a preferred supplier; whilst a broad client base takes us into many other venues and onto temporary event locations worldwide. This is an exciting opportunity to join our fast expanding team of inspiring production and design professionals as a Warehouse Manager.

 

The Warehouse manager will be expected to manage the running of the warehouse and associated aspects of the operations to support the production department. You will play a pivotal role in the business' operations through your intimate knowledge of our equipment stock and the day to day management of the equipment. You will be expected to show a high level of attention to detail across all areas of your work within the business.

 

You will work as part of the Event-Ops team to manage the operational activities of the business through your work in the warehouse. leadership of the warehouse team, and on site as required by the work load.

 

The job role will mainly be based around the management, preparation and movement of the equipment. You will be working with project managers to manage equipment allocations and shortfalls, then liaising with suppliers to sub-hire the appropriate equipment, preparing it for dispatch to clients and events and enabling the business to track all the assets as required. Receiving it back from completed projects you will be responsible for ensuring the equipment is returned correctly, faults or damages logged and that our systems reflect the current status of our inventory at any point in time.

 

The role calls for the management of damaged and missing equipment, and where appropriate you will be expected to make repairs, or arrange repairs to be undertaken.

 

You will be expected to work to and improve our systems and processes where appropriate, to improve our capability and customer service levels.

 

The job will require manual handling and some customer facing activities. For some customers you may be the only experience of Event-Ops throughout their contact with us, so you must reflect our high standards, work and equipment ethos.

 

Main Duties:

 

- To accept new items into stock, management of these items, in service testing and inspection of the items during their hire life cycle, and the decommissioning of items.

 

- Preparations of items for hire and project work, delivery, set up and operation of equipment for clients at the specified location. Collection of items from clients, and de-preparation of items once off hired.

 

- Organising and managing the sub-hire of items where we experience temporary shortfalls.

 

- Completion and adherence to the systems in place for the management of hire projects.

 

- Ensuring staff compliance with the warehouse and equipment policies and systems.

 

- Ensuring that all items are serviceable, and either undertaking repair where appropriate, or arranging for repairs to be carried out externally.Manufacturing and testing of bespoke cable assemblies and other items and hardware.

 

- Segregation and testing of items as required by their testing regimes (LOLER, PAT etc) and the returning to service or management of their repair.

 

- Undertaking work on site to set up and operate Audio Visual systems, as well as tasks associated with working on site in the live events industry, either as part of a team or under own supervision.

 

- Management of the business vehicles including regular checks on vehicles as set out in the appropriate policies and guidelines, and managing repairs and maintenance and cleaning as necessary.

 

- Management of the warehouse team as the business grows and staff are added, as well as overseeing health and safety procedures.

 

- Any other tasks as required by the company in the undertaking of its business duties.

 

Some driving duties will be required and a full clean driving licence coupled with the ability to drive a van is essential.
