Metro Broadcast Ltd is looking for a fulltime Lighting Technician to join it's growing Lighting Department. This is fora 6 month fixed term period, to be reviewed and potentially extended. You willneed to be a creative, self-starter with an attention to detail who is preparedto get involved will all aspects of the business.

 

 

The successful candidate will be required tobe involved in all stages of the events from preparing and testing to installationand operating the lighting equipment, with the ability to input into the designon some of the smaller events. You will be responsible for ensuring thedelivery of an excellent service at all times, liaising with clients asnecessary to ensure that they are satisfied with the work carried out. You willbe required to maintain all units and develop your knowledge of all Metro's lightingequipment, including digital consoles and moving lights.

 

 

An ability to work on your own initiativeis a must and you will need to be an effective team member and communicator towork effectively on large scale lighting jobs. We are looking for a creative,interactive and dynamic person to fill this role. Someone with a good backgroundknowledge, but also with space to develop. Candidates are required to have a minimumof 2 years' relevant career experience and a full driving licence. Qualificationsin Event/Theatre Lighting would be desirable.

 

 

The role will include, but is not limited to;

 

 

  • Responsible forpulling and preparing the appropriate equipment for the job from the kit listor quote. To have input towards the correct units for the event.
  • Testing, preparing andwidening expertise with the kit.
  • Light events usingMetro lighting stock (Rigging, Cables, Dimming, Control, Moving Lights)
  • To work to deadlines inenergetic surroundings
  • Installing in venuesacross London as well as travel around the UK and EU
  • To operate generic,LED and moving lights during the event.
  • To de-rig allequipment, pack it efficiently and return to the warehouse.
  • To act professionallyand demonstrate initiative to support the smooth running of the event; ensuringthe highest possible standards are maintained.
  • To be proactive inthinking of ways to improve future events.
