josephjamescoker
Hi, we run a very successful children's stage school in New Mills, High Peak, and we're looking for a Lighting Tech' to focus, plot and program a show at New Mills Art Theatre on Friday 8th December and operate a 9.30am dress, 2.30pm & 5.30pm shows on Saturday 9th December. We do about 6 shows a year so this could be a regular little earner for the right person, preferably local who can come down on a Saturday for an occasional rehearsal and join in the fun! You MUST be able to patch and plot channels/subs from scratch in preparation for focusing and programming as the in-house rig constantly changes at this venue and its very much a blank canvas every time you go in. Would probably suit a retired professional or enthusiastic technical theatre student looking for experience. This position works closely with children so you should be DBS checked but we can help you with that. We also have a small recording studio and could often use a Sound Tech' and a Stage/General Tech' if anyone is interested, I'm a retired professional so training in any aspect of studio/theatre work is available, (and we will pay you!) Children do and learn as they see and hear, so you should be prepared to set a moral example and have a can do attitude at all times. Our motto here is to 'develop essential life skills through performing arts' so it's not just another gig; you should bring your calm, courteous and patient demeanour with you as well as your sense of humour! We'll pay you what you think you're worth, and if we hire you again you'll be worth it! Regards, Joe, Technical Director.
