Motors and Spots Operative

 

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Motor and Spots Operative to join our client, a market leading live events lighting company based in their London head office paying up to £28,000 + Bonus.

 

 

Our client is one of the leading companies within the Lighting / Live Events / Concerts and Festivals sector they specialise in supplying AV Lighting equipment for musical acts, theatres, rock and roll tours, live events, exhibitions, conferences and much more. The role of the Motors and Spots Operative will contribute to the company’s reputation for excellence by ensuring that the motors, hoists and spots we provide are delivered on time, in the best of working order and in line with the customers expectations every time.

 

 

What this means in practice for the Motor and Spots operative is outlined below:

 

 

To prepare motors, chain hoists & spots in line with customer needs and to clean, repair and maintain the stock under the direction of line management and according to my experience and ability.

The Motors and Spots operative will be expected to carry out the following duties:

 

 

To operate Service & Maintain electrical chain hoists (C.M. Lodestars / Liftkets) ensuring correct safe practices applied. According to Manufacturers guide lines / training, also LOLER / PUWER and all other relevant H&S requirements. Including all Company Procedures and SSOW.

 

To carry out repairs to electrical chain hoists to ensure fully operational to manufacturers standards. According to Manufacturers guide lines / training, also LOLER / PUWER and all other relevant H&S requirements. Including all Company Procedures and SSOW.

 

To carry out repairs to spot lights (Strong, Lycian, Robert Juliat.) whilst ensuring full observance of Health & Safety requirements are maintained at all times. Including all Company Procedures and SSOW.

 

Maintain and repair Motor Control & Kinesys Automation System According to Manufacturers guide lines / training, also LOLER / PUWER and all other relevant H&S requirements. Including all Company Procedures and SSOW.

 

To operate Genie Windup towers in accordance with correct Health & Safety and manufacturer practices. According to Manufacturers guide lines / training, also LOLER / PUWER and all other relevant H&S requirements. Including all Company Procedures and SSOW.

 

To clean & carry out any repair necessary to all flight cases going out on jobs following all Company Procedures and SSOW + all relevant H&S requirements.

 

Plus additional and appropriate tasks as required by the various Department Heads, with prior agreement with the Warehouse Manager following all Company Procedures and SSOW + all relevant H&S requirements.

 

To highlight any shortages of parts for all equipment and to liaise with the Manager on this.

 

Loading and unloading of trucks

 

Maintain and organise the department, keeping areas clean and tidy.

 

 

This Motors and Spots Operative position is an excellent role for the right person who may have had 2-3 years previous experience in this or a similar role working within the live events sector with a strong knowledge of spot lighting products, electrical chain hoist systems and the lighting industry as a whole.
