Best material for colouring lamps

Rosco colorine used to be the "go to" stuff for colouring small lamps by dipping, but production has now ceased, apparently permanently.

Transparent and sparkling coloured lamps are desired so a transparent lacquer or varnish is required not an opaque paint. The lamps in question are only 3 watts but being of small dimensions get about as hot as a 40 watt GLS lamp.
