Biskit
Hi Guys,I'm looking for a bit of software (or app) to slow down an audio track but maintaining its pitch. It's for a one-off job for a sound effect which the cast need to sing along to - it's exactly as they want it, just a bit too fast. I could do it by burning to CD then using my Denon DJ CD player pitch-hold function while varying the speed, then re-record it, but I'm sure there must be a better solution without buying a fully featured audio package? Any ideas?Ben
Gerry
I use Audacity, on my PC, to do this. CheersGerry
jmdh
Yep, just tested and 'Change Tempo' will do the trick using Audacity which is free and cross-platform.
Shez
Free trial of Reaper will do this too. As will most other audio editors.
timsabre
There's a nice (free) program called speedshifter which can do this in real time, useful if the MD suddenly decides they want it changing again.
dbuckley
I'd have thought most modern audio editing software has this capability; I'm a goldwave user and it certainly does. And Movie Studio Pro does it too; its not an unusual feature.

Renny
And of course you can do it very simply in QLab.
