paulears
If Line 6 haven't made a digital IEM system yet you can be fairly sure that the latency of 2.4 GHz digital systems is too bad for IEM use at present. Based on what? I have plenty of Line 6 handhelds and guitar packs and swapping my guitar from a cable to the pack sounds exactly the same. Speaking into a Line 6 handheld, squirting into my ears via a digital desk is two a/d conversions and perfectly workable with. I have had Line 6 kit for years now, and never had too even think about latency. There is a difference between reading and suspecting a 'problem' than trying one for yourself and hearing it, or not. Bobbsy
The latency spec on the XR V70 (for example) is "<4ms Audio in to Audio Out". That's negligible...equivalent to talking to somebody a bit less than 4 feet away from you.
paulears
Monitor engineer on one gig recently said he'd had people tell him they couldn't work with digital for the problem 'locking in'. Really? I suspect another Mogami cable sounds better story.
