w/robe
We have discussed interviewee dress a number of times but what do you wear if you are on the other side of the table? I tend to go for boots, jeans and a smart, but not formal, shirt.
andy_s
I tend to go for the furred scarlet robe and full-bottomed wig.... :) (sitting in judgement on the rest of their lives)
Bobbsy
I used to go for any one of several Monty Python characters. If the interviewee got the reference, they'd clearly fit in. Seriously, interviewers (including me) would wear normal office dress--in our case a business suit or at least a jacket and tie with slacks. Just Some Bloke
If you want to see how well the candidate copes with stress, then turn up naked. Otherwise I just go with looking smart. At the end of the day, if they get the job then they need to see you as their boss, so if you don't dress like a boss then you've started out all wrong. w/robe
If you want to see how well the candidate copes with stress, then turn up naked. I'm not sure I could cope with the laughter! I thought this thread may be interesting for people who are going to interviews to know what those of us who are on the other side of the table may be wearing.
