gibbothegreat Posted April 15, 2015 Share Posted April 15, 2015 Hi, Am in the process of changing our AV switcher from an Analog Way Smart Fade, which has served us well, to a Kramer. The Smartfade has a very handy remote (which connects via the serial port and mimics the non-menu buttons on the front panel of the main unit, and includes LEDs to show status. Does anyone know if it is possible to get or make a similar thing for the Kramer? I know control via PC and IR is possible, but a hardwired solution would be my preference if it can be done. AHYoung Posted April 15, 2015 Share Posted April 15, 2015 if all you want is a box with 8 buttons that change inputs with lights, id suggest that a AMX cp1008 would do the trick with plenty change out of a couple of hundred quid. its a simple matter to send the select input commands plus blank on/ off whatever over 232 to the vp728. Kramer have very similar products themselves which ive never used, but ive controlled many vp scalers from AMX panels, simple and reliable...
