WiLL
Hi chaps, One of my geriatric MAC 600e threw a hissy fit a while ago upon striking up, it screeched, emitted smoke and was generally pretty unhappy about things. Upon opening it up I discovered that the starter which sits fortunately right at the front of the head was the only thing had any visible faults. A scorched hole in the surface of the resin-like block, with accompanying smoke marks on the cable above. I've had a hunt around and can find what I think is the correct spare for £370 (eeesh!, over half what the entire fixture is worth currently). Does anyone have tips about sourcing a new part? pic attached of the faulty unit.http://i631.photobucket.com/albums/uu40/WiLLF77/starter_zpsiawbqdnd.jpg
PaulDF
Try searching for a 575w igniter. I know you can get cylindrical ones cheaper but haven't a clue if they'd be any good for you.
WiLL
I think the cylindrical ones are for the magnetic ballasts, I need one for the electronic version sadly.
