karl
One of our Strand Cantata fresnels has a lamp holder that has been arcing and needs replacing. After a bit of head scratching I managed to release the sleigh that carries the lamp holder from the main focusing body. But I can't workout how you get the ceramic lamp holder out of its metal enclosure. Is this possible and if so how? I've tried Google but haven't turned anything up. Stu
From memory, the Strand spare part was actually a new ceramic and metal enclosure - if that make sense. http://gebrauchte-veranstaltungstechnik.de/assets/anzeigen-images/47704k.jpg In the pic above, you'd be replacing the whole bit between the lamp and the 2-position tray. The ever handy Strand Archive (http://www.strandarchive.co.uk/lanterns/cantatarange.html) shows the exploded parts diagram and parts list - it's under the followspot but the lamp burner end is the same. gyro_gearloose
You just need a standard GX 9.5 lamp base. Thomann sell one. Have a look here
karl
Many thanks, I hadn't realised they came as one complete unit. That makes life easier.
gyro_gearloose
Glad to help. I should point out to anyone else who's looking for a lamp base for a 575W discharge lamp that while the lamp will fit the lamp base linked to, the insulation is not suitable for discharge lamps.
