mark quinney
Would anyone contemplate swapping an expert for a chamsys desk in a venue that sees plenty of touring bands.
mjriley
Yes, Chamsys desks are constantly becoming increasingly acceptable on riders.
peza2010
The question you want to be asking is what doesnt the expert do that you want it to do? Most touring engineers would be happy with either (more so if the expert has the touch wing)
timsabre
They are certainly getting there, however if you offered a visiting LD avo or chamsys I think more people would go for avo at the moment. In a few years... Not sure.
smalljoshua
Interestingly, I'd say the rate of Development on the Titan surpasses that of MagicQ at the moment (in the core field of lighting control, ignoring all of Chamsys' other projects) Is the Expert completely up to date with Titan and does it have a Touch Wing? If not, these really do add another dimension of functionality to the desks. Josh
Judge
I think I agree with Josh. Both MagicQ and Titan 7 desks have equal functionality and I would be hard pressed to choose between them. Both are excellent and capable consoles. However, if you add a Touch Wing then you have a really good control surface that will keep people of all levels of expertise happy. I reckon that a lot of LDs still like the fader per unit approach. Expert plus wing gives you best of both worlds.
