robinwatkinson
The Event Safety Passport training course is a nationally recognised qualification designed by the Production Services Authority (PSA) and the Safety Pass Alliance (SPA) for people in the events industries to demonstrate basic health and safety awareness. It is designed to help reduce risks in an event environment and ensure you can operate safely, no matter what your role at the event. Following the one-day course, successful candidates are provided with a credit card sized passport, which indicates to employers in the live event production sector that the individual has a basic knowledge of site safety, common hazards and safe working practices. Glastonbury was one of the first events to start using the passport scheme to ensure everyone working on site had basic safe working knowledge. The Olympic Games in London also insisted that everyone working on site had the Event Safety Passport (SPA) qualification. Increasingly other companies, venues and events will follow.
