dbuckley
As the frequencies go up, the concept of earth gets harder. Back in the day (that day being Monday, 26 February 1979, so google tells me) I humped for Steve Hillage at Mountford Hall, and the venue is (more likely - was) close to a Police transmitter, and there was horrendous breakthrough into Hillage's guitar rig. Guitar tech got big roll of aluminum foil and coated the rear of the guitar rack, which made the problem go away. But that was in the days when the police used VHF radios (Pye pocketphones, anyone?) and I doubt that such a casual application would inhibit the reception of GSM signals. Andrew Edwards
I had a dinky walkman with inline controls late 80's into early 90s. I used to pick up the police as they drove by. Scared me half to death the first time.Couldn't pick up from the station just the patrol cars.
