Alec97
Hi, Can any body work out what I need the limiter threshold and release time to be set at to run a kam kxr 2000 mk1 which is powering two electro voice sb122's so I don't pop them. Thanks.
Stuart91
Don't kid yourself that the correct settings will give you an indestructible PA. The limiter threshold stops peaks from getting through (handy if someone drops a mic, or a slip of a fader). But ultimately it is heat that destroys drivers, and enough heat can build up at a lower level to cause problems. For subs, some styles of electronic dance music are much more "intense", if you have your subs playing something like that, and pegged against their limiters, you could still blow the drivers. A peak limiter is a handy tool, it will help protect the speakers, but it is not a magic bullet.
