dfinn
Hi, I want to run 2 powered monitors off a GL2200, I want to use aux's 1 and 2 and I presumed I could just use the XLR out son the back, but when I looked the 1 & 2 XLR outs r attached to 1 & 2 inserts. and the aux jack outs are separate. Can I run out of the XLR outs using the aux pots as control or do I have to run from the jack outs and use an XLR - jack converter? cheers Daniel
Bobbsy
The Aux outs on the GL2200 are balanced quarter inch TRS jacks; the XLRs you see are the Group outs. What may be confusing you is that the GL2200 has a switch which reverses the functions of the Groups and Auxes. The manual explains this...if you don't have a copy, it's online at http://www.allen-heath.com/DL/gl2200_ap3388_5.pdf A TRS to XLR cable is pretty standard. The proper wiring would be: Tip to XLR pin 2 (Signal positive)Ring to XLR pin 3 (Signal negative)Sleeve to XLR pin 1 (earth) Bob
