Qtx sound

I had a demo of one when they first came out. It's pretty much what you would expect for the price. Probably tolerable for a school sports day but didn't sound particularly good with USB playback (which didn't work for most of the demo) and the radio mics sounded poor with very limited range.

Nice concept but built too cheaply.

< Disclosure> I work for a company that sells these...so feel free to consider this biased - but it is my opinion< /Disclosure>

We have two of these in our rental stock - and for the right jobs they are fab little units. OK, so the sound quality isn't that of Martin Audio, but for the price I wouldn't expect it to be. I've not had any experience with problems using the USB playback - although that might be because I have a crap taste in music. Basically, it does what it says on the tin!

Outdoors we've got 40m line of sight to the receiver - we ran out of space but didn't have any problems. Certainly beats setting up a mixer amp, speakers, radio mic receivers and then running in power from god knows where for those quick events - Marquees in the middle of nowhere now a speciality!

There are a variety of other options available:

Anchor Audio Liberty Platinum:

http://www.anchoraudiohome.com/index.php?id=10

Sennheiser LSP 500 Pro

http://en-de.sennheiser.com/sound-systems-wireless-loudspeaker-lsp-500-pro

LD Systems Roadman:

http://www.ld-systems.com/en/battery-powered-pa-speakers/

Just a couple of options there at 3 different price points, although all a lot more money than the QTX.
