mackerr
I've just stumbled across this site which I thought may be of use to others http://speakerimpedance.co.uk/?act=three_series_parallel2&page=calculator NB in the immortal words of dodgy technicians "Not my work!" That illustrates how the power is divided nicely, but it furthers the misconception that there is a single number to define the impedance of a speaker. Since the impedance of any speaker varies with frequency reality is much more complex. As a guide for use with "nominal" impedances it's a handy aid.
