If the units are DMXable, and you can select a unique address on each unit, and you have a controller on which it is possible to patch each individual fixture, then there is no reason why they cannot work together. I would address unit types in blocks, i.e. give all one type sequential unique addresses, then the next type etcetera, rather than trying to address by position.
