IRW
Hi All, Just wondering if anyone has a sneaky way of repairing source 4 wiring sets? You know the problem...one or more of the wires break at the cable restraint, or the outer sheathing breaks at the same point revealing the inner cores, resulting in a need to order whole wiring set at £25 a piece, which can soon mount up if you've got a few to do! Thanks, Ian
gyro_gearloose
I wouldn't have thought that repair would be possible. That area of the units get very hot, so solder and heat shrink won't work for very long.
jonathanhill
No is the simple answer. The wire is crimped onto the contacts in the ceramic block.
IRW
No is the simple answer. The wire is crimped onto the contacts in the ceramic block. Yep, I know that, I suppose I was hoping that someone might say they've used X or Y exceedingly high temperature crimp terminals to splice the wire or some such thing! Oh well, new wiring sets it is!
