scheetham
Ive a Coemer Prospot 250 LX which has developed a fault. The power light on the swtich is lit, but nothing happens with the moving head. Theres no movement, the lamp does not strike, none of the gobos, colour wheels etc moveand theres no display showing. I can even move the yoke, so the motors are not in motion. Looks like a power fault, but just wondered if anyone knew what the issue was straight awaybefore I start doing serious fault find. However, I have checked the two 20mm fuses inside. So they are intact. Anyone help be much appreciated.
Stuart91
However, I have checked the two 20mm fuses inside. So they are intact. Have you actually metered out the fuses, or just visually inspected them? Sometimes the fuse wire can blow inside the cap so it isn't too obvious with the naked eye. scheetham
Yes I have metered the fuses. So they intact still.Plus I have metered the transformer, reads out 24volts. So transformer is fineand the 24v reaches the circuit board. So all fine. So fault will be in the board. Just wondered if there is a common fault. Richard CSL
there should be fuses on the control board, check these too. curious is the lamp circuit not striking, or is it relay controlled.? check the output of the bridge rectifier for DC. scheetham
Hi journeyman. I've just this moment checked the bridge rectifier. It's outputting dc voltage fine.So this is fine and the 2 x 20mm fuses are fine to. Yes the lamp is relay driven. But nothingIs happing at all with the mover. No tilt, pan, gobo, iris, etc are being tested. No movement at all. No display, so no error msg given. Just a dead unit at the moment.
serious_sound&light
If it's like the earlier prospots, there are two outputs on the transformer. One is about 24v and the other is about 11v. The 24v output only feeds the pan and tilt motors. Everything else (logic, display, motors in the head) is fed from the 11v winding. Do the fans run? Richard CSL
it sounds like the cpu chip if the whole unit does nothing at startup.
