S&L
A friend of mine uses helicon products to great effect (not the one your mention) but to get the best out of them you have to work at them like you would with any other instrument. It took him a summer season in corfu to get the best out of his gear! he uses them with his one man acoustic show at its something to use strategically - it's easily overdone. I haven't heard one used in a full band set up yet but I should imagine it would take a little working out as the end product tends to sound much 'thicker' than human harmonies even after careful setting. laolu
I heard a guy in a jazz / crossover combo using one with a sax and it sounded great! Like 2, 3 sax-players playing together. The sound was very natural. On vocals, I don't know. You want to use it on (human) voices, I guess? Norbert
Vin Trouble
As S&L says- you have to spend some time with these to get the best out of them - easy to overdo it with the harmonies, too. You could pick up a Voice Live Mk1 for a lot less money on Ebay and try that first?
